Our family consisted of myself (Darryl), Sarah and our three children; Kieran, Harry and Tilly.
Harry was born with an undiagnosed degenerative illness. He was central to our family life and needed lots of attention with his treatment and hospital visits.
Our other children were brilliant, Kieran was always on hand to ensure he was laughing and Tilly would always dish out the hugs, whether he wanted them or not!
Sadly in January Harry passed away. It was a hard time for us all and we are still coming to terms with it.
We have decided to honour Harry’s memory by supporting his favourite charities.
As well as working with Harry, Megan Baker House became a huge support to Harry’s Mum Sarah, to myself and to our two other beautiful children during this tough time.
Having already gone through a similar experience Jo and Dave Baker, the founders of Megan Baker House always had a sympathetic ear and we were made to feel so welcome.
Megan Baker House was an inspiration to Harry. Firstly the staff saw him as Harry and put this before his condition. They were able to help him with some of his physical needs but most of all inspire and motivate him. The staff, other parents and children quickly became our friends.
To sincerely thank everyone at the centre, including staff, parents and other children, myself and three friends will attempt to cycle from John O'Groats to Land's End.
Covering 938 miles in just 9 days we start on Monday 23rd July - Friday 4th August 2007.
We would ask that if you can support us on this adventure in any way shape or form, Please get in touch with the centre on 01568 616179.
