The charity is one of very few to provide Conductive Eductaion to children and teenagers throughout the UK and it does this for FREE.

Children and young people with a neurological or motor disorder have damage to the central nervous system, which affects their ability to control movement and a wide range of developmental difficulties.

Simple movements and skills such as sitting unaided; dressing; eating and drinking; bathing; toileting and personal hygiene that is ‘automatic’ for most people have to be consciously learned, as do social and communication skills.

DSC_0097.jpgAt Megan Baker House, these important skills are developed through Conductive Education. This method of teaching encompasses all aspects of development from the acquisition of speech and language to fine motor control.

These learned experiences all have practical applications which will help them function to their full potential at home, in school and importantly, at play.

Conductive Education is a proven, practical and successful approach which provides coping mechanisms to allow children to learn to manage their disability.

Megan Baker House receives no statutory funding and relies on grants and charitable donations.

We all wish the team well on their journey and will be out in force to cheer on when they cycle past!
